Today we highlight Isdefe collaboration with ESA (European Space Agency) and INTA (National Institute for Aerospace Technology) in the CESAR project. To do so, we focus on its staff at the ESAC (European Space Astronomy Centre), which hosts the ESA’s Science Operations Center (SOC ) and the ESA’s Astronomy and Solar System missions.
There, Isdefe employees support the mission. SMOS, which measures the salinity of the oceans and the humidity of the earth’s soil, and the XMM-Newton, which is dedicated to scrutinizing the universe at high energies using three X-ray telescopes. The main objective of the CESAR project is to spread the passion for Astrophysics and Space Sciences and to awaken vocations STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Maths), especially among girls and the most disadvantaged sectors, as well as to develop critical thinking and at the same time to bring the latest discoveries in science and technology in the field of Astronomy closer to society in general.
The CESAR project carries out educational activities with Isdefe staff at ESAC facilities, where it has educational rooms, solar observatories, night observatories and radio antennas. On its web page, you can find all the information about this initiative and its proposals aimed at all audiences.
