The European R&D project Security harmonized innovation for enhanced law enforcement capabilities in dynamic crowd protection through pre-commercial procurement (SHIELD PCP) is co-funded by the European Commission within the framework of the HORIZONTE EUROPE Program, under grant agreement number 101225962.
Public spaces in Europe face changing security challenges. This calls for smarter and more coordinated responses from law enforcement and public authorities. However, developing effective solutions that meet different operational needs and budgets remains a challenge. With this in mind, the EU-funded SHIELD PCP project team is addressing this problem by engaging buyers of security solutions in the creation of innovative technologies that meet their real needs. Building on previous efforts, SHIELD PCP adopts a structured, phased approach consisting of design, prototyping and validation to create tools that improve cooperation between law enforcement and public stakeholders. Pilots in Slovakia, Spain and France test these solutions in real-world environments. The goal of the project is to provide cost-effective and scalable security innovations.
