The strategic objective of the MEDEA project is to establish a network of security professionals across the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions that can promote cooperation, understanding, and effective handling of existing and emerging common threats. The MEDEA project aims to make a difference compared to existing approaches by using “innovation and research as a catalyst,” recognizing their importance in overcoming the multiple security problems faced by Europe’s southern border. The main activities of the consortium will be the protection of the southern-southeastern borders of Europe and the Black Sea, although they will undoubtedly not exclude other tasks related to security and disasters, so that network participants can share information and best practices and establish more effective and efficient collaboration.
The Isdefe team participating in the project as a member of the consortium is coordinated by Raquel Pastor Pastor from Isdefe’s Defense and Security Technologies Department.
