Internal R&D project
The objectives of Isdefe’s internal R&D project Methodology for Defining the Safety Area in Shooting Ranges (MEDASCAT) are described below:
- To analyze the factors that determine the safety zones (defined by a “tolerable” risk) when firing unguided weaponry from an aerial platform.
- Define the applicable methodology for calculating the aforementioned safety zones.
- Validate the methodology through a development demonstrator.
The project was developed by a team coordinated by José Antonio Tornero Fernández of Isdefe’s Defense and Security Technologies Division.
