Lucía Blanco: “Isdefe’s Horizons Network is a key tool (in Spain’s energy transition)”.

From improving energy efficiency in public buildings to the evaluation of renewables and application models for the Spanish Public Administration (AGE), s well as energy transition and security of supply, the Energy Isdefe and the Universidad de Zaragoza Chair, is one of the mainstays of Energy Observatory of the Horizons Network.

Lucía Blanco, sDeputy Director General of Energy Prospects and Statistics at MITECO, discussed for Isdefe role of our company in Spain’s energy transition and the value of the Horizons Network Energy Chair in the main challenges faced by her department.

Blanco explained that Isdefe is currently providing technical assistance to his team. To this end, it is present in the preparation of the most updated picture possible of the energy sector, and in the “most strategic” part of planning for the future. “It is essential to have a solid knowledge base and, therefore, the Horizons Network is a key tool,” he added.

The challenges presented by the energy transition in Spain demand, among other tasks, “preparing demand projections by sector and energy use,” said Lucía Blanco during her speech when speaking about this node of the Horizons Network. Therefore, direct contact with the Isdefe team, which stands out for its “particularly extensive training and knowledge”, streamlines and facilitates the responsiveness of her department.
