Isdefe presented the award for academic excellence for the 2022-2023 academic year at the School of Telecommunications Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETISIT UPM) to Lucía Cristina Martín Pérez, a success story of the Horizontes Network, in recognition of her master’s degree thesis.
After starting as a student of the Isdefe-ETSIT UPM Chair in Defense and Security, Lucía is now an employee of the company. Under the leadership of director Mateo Burgos García, this knowledge node proposes a series of activities focused on the Defense and Security sector.
Among them, it is worth mentioning the performance of foresight and technology watch activities together with the execution of research projects in the field of defense and security, as described on the UPM website. Likewise, the organization of conferences, workshops and technical seminars for dissemination purposes is also envisaged.
Belinda Misiego, head of the Innovation area at Isdefe, was in charge of presenting this award to Lucía and two other winners. Firstly, to Samuel Martínez Zamacola for having the best record in the Signals and Communications track of the Master’s Degree in Telecommunications Engineering. Secondly, to Guillermo Pérez de Arenaza Pozo for presenting the best final degree project.
The event took place on May 20 at the headquarters of the ETSIT, and was presided over by the rector of the UPM, Guillermo Cisneros. It also included recognition of the recently retired staff of the center. The awards ceremony was supported by around twenty entities, including Isdefe.
