  • Simulation and management of emergency scenarios using drones.
  • Application of emerging technologies to optimize drone payload.

Atlantis’ project: simulation for training and scenario forecasting

“Atlantis” is an ambitious technological project that will be developed largely in León in close collaboration with the supercomputing center Castilla y Leon (SCAYLE). Faced with increasingly demanding risks, the UME is looking for training with less exposure to risk and less wear and tear on equipment, thus reducing cost and time.

The UME project proposes the development of a simulation system for drones, driving vehicles, machinery, etc. that will enable immersive tactical training of the interveners and a decision support system that will create virtual emergency scenarios and enable operational intelligence.

The initiative will incorporate existing capabilities and integrate elements that have been previously developed. Innovation will make it possible to cover certain needs that are not covered today. It is here where universities have a relevant role through the capabilities of their research groups.

Specifically, ‘Atlantis’ requires, among others, knowledge and expertise in: digital terrain twin, risk simulators, regional weather models, human action integration, sensor intelligence, virtual investment evolution, decision support intelligence.

The universities of the Horizons Network and, in particular, the University of Leon, with which Isdefe has signed a collaboration agreement, are providing academic and research support to the UME’s “Atlantis” Project.
