Isdefe is a member of the advisory board of INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering), the international organization that develops and disseminates systems engineering principles and best practices, as well as of its Spanish chapter, AEIS (Asociación Española de Ingeniería de Sistemas).

Lines of research:
- Access to best practices in systems engineering through technical manuals and other documents published by INCOSE and AEIS.
- Collaboration with international experts in systems engineering through participation in workshops, symposiums and conferences organized by INCOSE and AEIS, with special relevance to those from EMEA countries.
