Internal R&D project
Isdefe’s internal R&D project, Solar Panel Remote Sensing System (SIGSOL), aims to develop a system for the automatic detection of solar installations in urban centres through the use of machine learning and artificial vision, for subsequent recording in a database and visualisation in a geographic information system (GIS).
In the current energy context, the data provided by this project can be of great use in decision-making, in the fight against climate change and in monitoring the objectives defined in the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC).
The project is being developed by a team coordinated by Javier Cordobes Muñoz and Isabel María Ruiz Gómez of Isdefe’s Transport, Energy and ICT Department.
